It will stay put, it will keep the ears covered at all times and it will also keep the neck warm without adding a bulky scarf that needs to be tied around the neck.
The pattern is for 0-6m, 6-12m, 12-24m, 2-5 years and 5 years to adult sizes.
You will need DK weight yarn, knitting needles to obtain the gauge (for most, 4mm (6 US) needles work the best), a tapestry needle, one stitch marker.
Please check the recommended needle size on your yarn label and make your gauge sample to make sure you end up making a hat that really fits!
A part of the balaclava is knit and a part of it is knit in the round – you will need knitting needles for knitting in the round.
